Doing preventive maintenance has 4 positive effects.
An oil change in your car is $20.00 a motor is $2500.00. It
is no different for your equipment.
Example: My truck has over 250,000 miles on it
with no major repairs and it still runs great. Did I mention I have not made a
car payment in 11 years. “Maintenance works.”
1.
Finding small
problems before they become costly repairs. In technical circles this is
called the, "$500.00 bushing". What that means is seldom does a system have a catastrophic
failure without prior signs of problems. By not catching it the problem early,
a $5.00 bushing will quickly escalate to very expensive repairs.
2.
Extending the
life of your equipment. I know all about depreciation I personally prefer
money in the bank.
3.
Efficiencies
with the ever increasing cost associated with electricity it is critical to properly maintain
equipment namely HVAC equipment , to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness by decreasing downtime.
4.
Downtime!!!!
This is the big one. Regardless if it is your business or home inoperable equipment
will cost you money and business.
Although preventive maintenance will never prevent all breakdowns it
will minimize the risk and likelihood of catastrophic failure.
